Deneen Wiley

My name is Deneen Michelle (Ramos) Wiley. I was born in New Bedford, MA and am a proud 3rd generation Cape Verdean. As a Marine Corp Brat, I lived away for many years. Upon my return to the NB area in 2020, I reconnected with my community by serving as a Faith Formation Leader at Our Lady of Assumption Church (first CV Church in America).
I joined the CVRC Parade Committee and have served as Vendor Coordinator for Parade Day/Kultura Fiesta. In 2023, I joined the CVRC Board and began serving as the Board’s Secretary in January 2025. I am a graduate of Southeastern Massachusetts University with a degree in Accounting. I am a proud recent retiree who served 38 years at the IRS as a HR Professional/Manager in Training and Development. I have strong values rooted in faith, family, and culture. This experience has allowed me to give back to my community and to do my part in keeping our culture alive.
