Dr. Bruce A. Rose

Bruce A. Rose is a retired university executive who has been continuously involved in educational, civic, and social justice activities in New Bedford since his return to the area in 1993. During that time, he has served with numerous community organizations including Advocacy Committee for Excellence in Education, NAACP as Past President, United Front Development Corp., New Bedford Whaling Museum Governance Committee, BayCoast Bank Board of Incorporators, and New Bedford Ocean Cluster DEI Committee, to name a few.
He is an early co-founder of the Cape Verdean Recognition Committee, where he currently serves as Co-Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee. Bruce’s commitment and dedication to the Cape Verdean Recognition Committee stems from his desire to acknowledge and celebrate Cape Verdean heritage, and his dedication to promoting educational advancement in the Cape Verdean community.
